Maybe taking the DD to Blair before hoping on the train was a strategic move by the City; it shows how much more spacious the trains are. Of course, in the big picture, that's irrelevant considering OC will probably unload 10 bus fulls (or around that number) on one train. Loading and uploading will still be much quicker and easier with trains thanks to the 14 doors vs the 1 or 2 doors per bus.
You are most likely correct.

Did you really expect them to when you saw the list of special guests? This is a PR move through and through.

They haven't said anything so far. It's just a ride at this point.

We'll see if there is anything of substance that comes out of the 2:30 p.m. briefing.

Certainly the reporters' priority, so that they can keep tweeting.

The station looks good, though. I like those vertical light strips.

Looks like Shane scored a ride!! Good to see someone outside the world of politics and media, a guy who is passionate about rail and provides an important public service on a volunteer basis, getting the invitation!!

Lyon Station platform seems wider now than the virtual tour. Good to see.

Transit commissioner timed the ride, end-to-end. Just under 21 minutes.

Looks awesome. The downtown stations are a symphony of branding potential. Those white square columns and curved walls at Rideau are pure gold.
