Anyone get Timbercreek’s fetish for grey paint? Corner would be so much nicer if they didn’t go for the Soviet barracks look.

I cannot believe that they painted that beautifully red shaded brick. Now what? Paint it every 5 years? So f-n stupid.

^Yeah, I don't get it. The terracotta coloured brick on Colony Square was unique and added some badly needed colour to the skyline. That grey looks drab and cheap. And now it's a perpetual maintenance headache. Why??

The grey paint is important to the Premium Mediocre(tm) aesthetic of Timbercreek properties

I quite like the look of the commons building. Nice variation in texture. And the sign looks good too. Will be an interesting block once this and WAG Inuit expansion are completed.

the on-going densification of the western edge of downtown may be a major sneaker way to its overall longterm revitilization! commons, sherbrook flats, this project, the church redevelopment, good street's block long thing, etc...

I’m really excited to see the way this building looks when it’s finished. I think it’s a unique and interesting design that will look awesome jutting out from behind the curved lines of the new art gallery addition. I think it’s exciting to have a Maltzan right across the street from another Maltzan here in Winnipeg. Two very unique buildings.

I agree, especially the Memorial side with the balconies. I hope one day they do end up building the podium out though, the giant hole for parking under it really sucks.

I have to admit that the design has grown on me. Still think it could use more windows but compared to the first iteration it looks significantly better.

I haven't been by in a bit but was told it was around floor 7 or 8 now.

Drove by on Wednesday and it certainly looked to be about that high.

I'm very curious to see how this turns out. Most of his designs, including this one, seem to be a very similar style to a lot of 546 projects in the render stage, but I guess due to client budgets, so many of 546's buildings turn out looking like absolute crap.

I can see it poking out above the art gallery now. Will fill a small gap in the skyline from my view.
