I'm pretty sure that the meme was aimed at you and Suburbia. Don't get mad at me though, I'm just the messenger.

Here's some construction updates. Not sure who took them and don't care, they're from SRC. And folks please take note of how I've added the spoiler tags

Project on corner of 12th and 4th street..

Video Link

Union Square II, apparently now called Underwood Tower.
Photo credit Lloyd Braun at SRC

I usually don't agree with your posts, but this is great. Looks like we've finally solved out our construction update problems.

FWIW though, you should probably credit the images.

Edit: something strange is happening to the pics. Some have disappeared and some have changed. Some pics look like another city altogether. Deleted the non-Calgary ones.

Photo credits done! don't want anyone whining and bitching about proper crediting.

Nice updates regardless of where they’re from!

I’m loving the class on Mt. Royal Village, looks fantastic.

You should always source and credit material that's not your own. It's accepted practice.

Good job Bad Grizzly. It's nice to get some good quality updates even if they are from people at SRC.

Some of those photos are Toronto I think. They aren’t Calgary for sure.

Yeah, I don’t know what it is exactly with that site but I tried to link images to skyrise a couple of times before before and the same thing happened to me. The images disappeared after about an hour two.

I appreciate the effort, but this is a bad idea. For one thing I’ve noticed in the past when I try to do it that the pictures disappeared or changed just like did on your post.
Second point, if we’re only going to get our updates from SRC, we might as well just become members there. And those who don’t want to become members there will watch what few members we have left go there every time there are new updates.

With all due respect, I'm not sure that is a better way, though your efforts are much appreciated BG. If the pics are going to be changing or disappearing and clearly there was something weird happening then it isn't a benefit, and even though there were no links to Skyrise, the posts still display what's happening at another site. We want the focus to be here.

Better to stick with updates from Flickr, Photobucket, Imgur or YouTube. I've deleted all pics that were tied to Skyrise, and the one from Flickr (since it wasn't showing up)

The ONE site at 10th Ave. & 1st St. SE perhaps ?
I've noticed some "investigative" activity there lately.

Regardless - glad to hear there is some good news coming.

I think you're right. Daemon had also updated on it:

In more construction related news they spoke about that proposed Inglewood tower which is called The Grid this morning on CTV. I guess there will be an open house or something to address the community's concerns. That should go well...

At least the plans have space for a coffee shop...

FWIW I'm not sold at all on the look of this so far. It couldn't appear more slapped together and incongruous design wise. The townhomes and the tower don't go together at all. It looks like massing models based on monopoly properties mashed together in Sketchup.

If you are trying to get community buy in for a potentially controversial project, why not at least spend a few dollars on a competent good looking render done in a program that isn't MS paint?

This reminds me of the first CalgaryNEXT renders, which may as well have been a giant middle finger photo-shopped to the top of the greyhound station for how much effort was put into them.
