I guess you can say you heard it here first. A Hilton Resort with a Tiger Woods designed golf course are planned for Far West Bexar off 211 and will be part of The Orchard development.

That looks much better. SA's freeway system looks like a mini-Houston freeway system. You have your loops and spokes.

Mini? San Antonio has the second largest freeway system in the country, so I read. Over 3,100 miles of freeway. Houston looks bigger, but by no means is San Antonio's mini in comparsion with Houston's.

It's on Texashighwayman. It also counts U.S. Highways, but says Bexar County.

This is the what's happening in Far West SA. Everything highlighted in "mountain dew" are under construction or in pre-construction, everything in light blue/Turquoise currently exists. The red line the stretch of 211 in the pictures I posted above. Where that red line tops out at Potranco (Stevens Ranch and Redbird Ranch) is where it ends. There is a gap that lasts until Culebra on the far northwest side, then 211 begins again. Plans are to fill in the gap and connect the soon to be freeway.

Across 211 from the Hilton Resort and Tiger Woods golf course, Briggs Ranch is developing a large retail "town center" at the northwest corner of 211 and 90. It's the big red area.

For what? There is retail planned for both the northeast (The Orchard) and northwest corners (Briggs Ranch).

Big things are going down, I love it. I really like the fact that people are taking the criticism and making something happen about that by creating areas like this and many others soon enough.

I believe some aspect of the development will involve a urban village type design and will involve entertainment.
