Tower crane has been removed from the site. Windows and balcony doors appear to now be installed.

A few more floors would make this really impressive to see as you come down Wonderland at Commissioners

Drove by today and was able to snap a shot while waiting for the light. It's really coming together.

Making progress with exterior concrete finishing. Would guess over 70% is now complete.

Still working today on concrete finishing near top of this building. Appears they may already have some tenants living on the lower floors as there are patio chairs on some balconies.

There's been people living in there for a couple months now. I noticed when we went to the advance poll at the arena next door before the city election that people were coming and going and the furniture on balconies.

In case anybody is interested in a street view, Google already went by the area last month.

You can also see the almost-complete Southdale Road expansion in the street view.

When I type in this address into the city's building permit registry, it appears that York has filed a building permit application about a month and a half ago, for two towers with heights of 22 stories and 19 stories.

My guess is that it will be the buildings proposed for right at the corner of Southdale and Bostwick, since it's marked on the master plan as 21s and 18s.

This is described as site 1 of the complex York plans to build in the Bostwick area. Would be interesting decision to start here rather then finish the previous site where they have switched from a 4s office building to a 11s residential building fronting on Southdale Rd. They already have the underground parking and footings built for the 11s tower and would only need to reinstall a tower crane and start forming. The site 1 corner will need them to build the access roadway that will service the entire west side of the site.

York has applied for a zoning change to allow for a "12-storey mixed-use apartment building containing 120 residential units and 162.5sq.m of commercial space", just north of the recently constructed 17-storey building, fronting onto Southdale.

The original plan for this spot was a commercial/office building (3 stories IIRC).

The public meeting will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

12s is even better. They already have the foundation and underground parking built so putting the 12s on top has a head start. Would love to see them start this before they start on the other buildings on this location.

City planning staff is recommending that Council approve the zoning changes that would allow for the proposed 12-storey mixed-use building fronting onto Southdale, just north of the recently constructed 17-storey building.

This goes to Council's Planning and Environment committee on March 19th, then to Council on April 2nd.

Makes sense to build this before any of the other towers proposed for the site given the underground parking and footings are already in place. Would not be surprised to see this be York's next construction project after the 17s up at Wonderland and Fanshawe.

It looks like York filed for another building permit for the 2 towers right at the corner of Bostwick and Southdale last month. What's strange is that they already applied in May 2023 for the same towers (which I shared on here last year). Not sure what the difference is between the two permits, but it seems like this will be York's next phase.
