Yep - I feel us getting those big boys in the 90s really skewed people's expectations - Atlanta was punching a little above her weight back then w/ the height, now she feels ready to start stretching ever upwards

Hopefully this is the first domino for many taller projects to come!

We were definitely spoiled. I didn't realize it growing up, just thinking it was normal. But as an adult avid cranewatcher now, I could only imagine how psyched I would be if we were getting quality towers of the height and frequency these days. Very excited for 1072 for that reason.

This one is rising fast. Its going to really shoot up once they finish the Office podium section and get on to the apartments.

The rendering on Page 1 of this thread shows 8 levels of parking above the ground floor entry on West Peachtree Street. If that's accurate, there's another four parking levels to go beneath the 9-floor office podium.

Those 1 story buildings all around 1072 are ripe for redevelopment. Its so interesting how Midtown's center mass is shifting south and to the west.

I'm excited for this tall of a building but it still bugs me to no end that they closed the sidewalks on both sides with no pedestrian alternatives. It's simply unacceptable in Midtown, within blocks of a MARTA station, grocery store, etc.
Sorry I'll stop complaining about this eventually
