ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಜನರ ಬಹುವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ಮುಡಿಪಿನ ಕೊಣಾಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐಟಿ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಸುಳ್ಯ, ಪುತ್ತೂರು ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಳ್ತಂಗಡಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಿಸಿ ಇಸ್ರೇಲ್ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಕೃಷಿ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್, ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಕನಟ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುರತ್ಕಲ್ ಎನ್ಐಟಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದೆ. ಗಂಜಿಮಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಐಎಡಿಬಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ 180 ಎಕರೆ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸ ಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸುಮಾರು 48 ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳು ನೋಂದಣಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿವೆ. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರದ ರಫ್ತು ವಲಯ ನೀತಿಯಡಿ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಶೀಘ್ರ ಆಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಕೃಷಿ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ವಿಳಂಬವಾಗುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಕನಟ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲು ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಎನ್ಐಟಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೆ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಹೊಂದಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

Shetty, President of Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industry) also had addressed the Press in the evening on the same day wherein he had expressed that existing Industrial Areas / Estates in this area are fully occupied and in order to accommodate new Investors additional Industrial Areas / Estates have to be established and for this at least 1000 (one thousand) acres of Land, Govt. / Public or Private nearer to the Airport, Seaport, Railway and National Highways must be acquired and had assured us that he would take up this matter with the State Government on priority basis to avoid migration of Investors to other States.

Improve connectivity to New M'lore port: Exporters

Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA) President Gaurav Hegde said the poor road connectivity forces the investors to prefer other areas over Ganjimutt, though the Export Promotion Investment Park (EPIP) has been set up at Ganjimutt.

“Small industrialists are facing infrastructure problems at Baikampady. The KSIA has come out with a proposal to set up an export facilitation centre and exhibition centre at Baikampady at an estimated cost of Rs 11 crore. The Centre has promised to provide 50% of the cost. The state government should share 50 % of the cost,” he demanded.

An exporter, representing the cashew industry, said there is a shortage of availability of raw materials for the industry and contract farming to expand the area under cultivation should be given priority. An export cell should be set up to address up to address the small grievances of the exporters, he urged.

District Industries Centre Joint Director Gokuldas Nayak said the land has been identified at Karnire in Bantwal taluk for the setting up of industries in Dakshina Kannada. Special land acquisition officer is working on the identified land. When the land is made available, the industries will come up in the district, he felt.

Karnire, Athikaribettu Industrial Area (200 acres proposed by KIADB) near Mulki should not be confused with Canara Industrial Area in Bantwal.
