I can't argue with that, or at least not much. After weekday working hours, things get a little weird.
That said, with Parkvale and Woodlea, downtown is still my favourite Red Deer neighbourhood. There's still - maybe increasingly - fun things to do downtown. This weekend for Harry Potter nerds:
