So they're not turning South Texas into a desert and more importantly, they leave the root system intact and within ten years the tree is ready to be harvested again. Once they're done (whenever that is) harvesting the trees, they'll all grow back. No harm, no foul.

I did read the article but I must have missed the part about leaving the root system. Thanks for pointing that out. It makes me feel better. And I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong.
