Well of course they should have some parking, it's basically a constitutional right in Texas. I don't know, I guess in the last year I've become a bit of an anti-car zealot. Speaking as an urbanite and not as a developer who needs to sell units, it just seems to me like a lot of parking for urban apartments. One space per unit max with some spare for retail seems like an ideal ratio, but with these the ratio looks like its between 1.5 and 2 on average. Why walk or bike downtown to Walgreens or the new HEB if you live at Broadway and 9th when you can just drive to Central Market, you know? It's what the people who live at 1800 Broadway and Mosaic appear to be doing.
