In Addition to New Destinations, Frontier Airlines is Dedicating a Plane to SAT

New Flights and New Plane at San Antonio International Airport

From the City of San Antonio's Aviation Department

SAN ANTONIO (June 5, 2018) – Frontier Airlines, an ultra-low-cost carrier, announced today its plans to offer more new service to attract both leisure and business travelers. The new non-stop routes will fly from San Antonio International Airport (SAT) to Orange County, California (SNA) and Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC) and will offer access to some of the country’s top tourist attractions, including Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm in California and top-rated parks and outdoor recreation in Utah. Business travelers will also enjoy SNA as a great alternative to LAX and the LA basin area.

“The greater San Antonio and Central Texas communities continue to respond well to our Low Fares Done Right philosophy,” said Daniel Shurz, Sr. Vice President of Commercial for Frontier Airlines. “We are proud to continue our commitment and show our pride in serving this community by dedicating a plane to San Antonio. With a total of 25 destinations now available, we are the largest carrier at San Antonio in terms of cities served.”

In addition to offering special rates for the new destinations, to celebrate Frontier’s growing commitment to SAT, the airline will dedicate one of its brand new Airbus A320 aircraft to the city and allow residents to pick and name the animal that will go on one of Frontier’s famous animal-themed tails. San Antonio residents will be asked to vote for their top five animals in the first round of the promotional contest, and in the second round residents will choose their favorite name for the animal.

In each round of the contest, participants will be randomly chosen to win prizes, including vouchers and 25 round-trip tickets – a total of 50 round-trip tickets in all – to any of Frontier’s non-stop destinations from San Antonio. To participate in the promotional contest, go to “SAT Plane Tail” by clicking here http://bit.ly/SATplanetail.

“Today’s news shows that Frontier is committed to this market and that they are here to stay. Getting passengers involved in its latest promotion signifies a true community partnership,” said Russ Handy, Aviation Director for the City of San Antonio.

Special introductory rates will be offered for a limited time starting at $29.

Just last month, Frontier announced plans to service new routes to Albuquerque, Charlotte, Cleveland, Columbus, Jacksonville, Memphis, Oklahoma City, Omaha and Tulsa.

Service to Orange County begins on August 13 while service to Salt Lake City begins on August 15. For more information on the contest and special rates visit www.FlyFrontier.com.

Today’s announcement brings the total number of non-stop destinations served from San Antonio International Airport to 54, with 25 of those destinations served by Frontier Airlines.
