^ The fact that the downtown Staples has two entrances and exits operating can't help things. In some respects it's amazing that they haven't sealed one of them off. By contrast, the Shoppers Drug Mart at Portage Place closed their Portage Avenue entrance within a couple of months after they moved there from Graham Ave.

I'm sure they will maintain a presence, though. With all of the businesses and offices downtown that need stationery and office supplies, I have a hard time imagining Staples leaving. Maybe they might revert to something closer to the old school Grand & Toy or Willson Stationers model with a small footprint store, though.
