Found a few interesting old photos of the Calgary Tower (191m), originally known as the Husky Tower. I didn't realize that the original paint job had a yellow band, painted red in ~2005 when the glass floor was installed. Click photos for full size if available.
June 1967 - it looks to have recently eclipsed Elveden House (80m) as Calgary's tallest freestanding structure

Downtown Calgary during the Olympics - anyone have more photos like this? Interesting use of the Scotia tower, it seems that in the past it was a landmark tower in Calgary's skyline, almost insignificant today. It would be interesting to put together a photo essay on its history.
