If this building is reinforced concrete - I think the chances of the entire building having to come down for this fire seems remote.
The roof framing over the elevator and stairwells would likely have been wood framed, or otherwise combustible, which is why they look to have burned away. Also the roof membrane (tar) would have burned.
Clean it out, fix the roof and save it for another day.
