I think heritage and modern structures can successfully coexist side by side without artificial height limits. I don't mind restrictions on "building form" or materials (as long as they're
quality materials), but I've never understood how an artificially imposed maximum height helps a heritage area, especially since the impulse would be to increase the floorplate area to make up for lost square-footage of the overall structure, thus putting more strain on the neighbouring heritage building. Also, what makes an area interesting is
variety, instead of the
