English is a mandatory subject in all Quebec schools every year starting in Grade 1.

There is also a tiny number of French immersion schools or classes here and there in the province. (In places like the Saguenay for example.)

But it's nowhere near as widespread as French immersion is in the rest of Canada.

Not sure what this has to do with choosing a place to live in Winnipeg.
