I agree, the trouble is, the way the rule is worded, one could argue we all have a stake in real estate. Even tenants. Real estate affects our pocket books mightily in positive and negative ways. One could argue NIMBYS have a big motivation to artificially keep supply low to increase the value of their homes, only to one day cash out, or pass it down to their heirs.
