Some people here have a great deal of trouble telling when someone's injecting a bit of ironic humor.

Nevertheless, it has been contended here several times now that these Folsom buildings lie over bedrock that is "a lot" closer to the surface than in the case of the Millennium Tower or, in this case that the buiding lies "directly over it". You must be privy to information the rest of us doesn't have--the depth of soil covering the bedrock in this exact location--and you should share it with us. I understand the assumption that because it's at the foot of a rock hill (Rincon Hill) that the upward slope of the bedrock is consistent and gradual from Mission to the hill itself, but that's really a lot of speculation.

My tendency has always been to assume the architects and engineers know what they are doing and that was only somewhat shaken by the whole "Millenium Tower" thing. But before we found out how badly they did scr*w up, who would have believed that could happen in modern SF with all the bureaucracy that checks and double checks designs and such.

So I await the facts. How deep is the bedrock under this building and how heavy will it be in comparison to others like the Millennium and 181 Fremont (one with piles to bedrock, one without). . . or are you too just depending on the architects and engineers not to screw up again as I will be doing (with fingers crossed).

I do like the design and think its a nice add to the city.
I don't know. In my line of work I've seen too much of the "professional" ego in its native environment. Just because a colleague screwed up, it's hard to accept that you, yourself, possibly ever could.

But I trust everything with the design of this building is fine. I just am admitting, unkike some others, that I have no basis to know that or reason to trust this particular developer and his design group whom I know nothing about. But I WAS KIDDING IN THE MILLENIUM REFERENCE. IT WAS A LITTLE BIT OF DARK HUMOR.
