It's easy to see the developers are trying to take advantage of the growth on the south side. Putting this on the north side would just blend it in with everything else being built there while building on the southwest side, they stand out and they offer something the southwest side is currently not offering, a large shopping center. In terms of whats going on, the southeast side has had nearly one million square feet of retail built since 2005 with an additional 1 million currently under construction. The south side has a lot planned as well with The Preserve, Espada and Triple L. It's only natural that the progression now head towards the southwest side.
