How could the Oilers possibly have better odds than the Canucks? They have no depth whatsoever. Their goaltending looks atrocious. Meanwhile the Canucks added key pieces on forward and d, and they also finished ahead of the Oilers last year. The Oilers peaked when they made the play-offs in 2017. I would be comfortable betting a fortune that the Canucks finish ahead of the Oilers.
Even if I wasn't a Canucks fan, I would still be picking them as the darkhouse surprise team of the year.
