"Parliament is getting ready to buy the land on the west side of CityLine," Richardson City Manager Dan Johnson told the Dallas Business Journal."They are getting ready for development and requested a minor zoning refinement. This won't change the commercial or multifamily chemistry of the project."

The 55-acre tract of land is bound on the north side of Renner Road, east of U.S. 75 and south of President George Bush Turnpike. The property will be ground zero for 1.35 million square feet of office space, 1,250 apartments, a 150-room hotel and 60,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

These new plans tweak previous zoning by increasing the density for non-residential use by 732,500 square feet, while decreasing the number of apartments and retail, according to city planning documents.

This is a good sign for Richardson, Johnson said, who added the two projects — the CityLine and now the Parliament Group development — will add more than $2 billion to the city's tax base.
