Tbh, I love all the density going to midtown, but am far more interested in the midrise developments along the EST. Even in places like Chicago I enjoy the midrise neighborhood's in areas like Bucktown more so than the skyscraper neighborhood's, although the skyscrapers are a good foundation to support density, transit, and are lovely to look at. Give me a midrise condo with a rooftop pool, view of the skyline, nearby park, tree-lined streets that are safe to bike, a grocery store, plenty of restaurants, and in a strong school system. That's where I want to live. And no, I don't think you should need an income of 100k to buy or rent in that neighborhood.
