Not sure what's going on here but they have dug a huge hole, undercutting what appears to be the beginnings of an elevator core (it can be seen in the picture I posted a couple of days ago as well.)
In the foreground is a bunch of rebar and broken up concrete. In the background can be glimpsed drainage pipes and sand getting spread. It looks like they are preparing the ground for the first parking floor.
