To be honest, it's hard to imagine that we went through a 20 year period (1990-2010) where virtually nothing was built downtown (or anywhere else for that matter).

Suddenly, including Hydro.. That's 6 towers built (Hydro, Alt, Glasshouse, D-Condo, Heritage Landing, U of W commons) downtown since 2009 and 5 more scheduled in the next 24 months with a new tallest.

We're even seeing substantial residential high rises being built in the suburbs (Edgewood Estates among others).

Never woulda thunk it.

Must have been something to be alive in the late 60's through early 80's when our last highrise building boom happened.
