As far as good views of DT, I've always like the Old Hwy 90 overpass that goes over Hwy 90, on the far West side. It's far away, but with a good zoom lens, makes a good pic.

Also, again Hwy 90, as it goes over Nogalitos Street. You see the surface street heading into the heart of Downtown.

Not easy spots for picture taking, to be sure, but makes for nice drives.
