I agree Kevin. The downtown area definately has good density. This weekend I noticed a nice view of downtown from the 410 loop on the northwest side around the Babcock road exit. From that view, the downtown core is very solid and not "spread out".
Being from Austin, I'll show favoritism, but comparing the 2 downtowns is like comparing apples and oranges. I love them both.
