Eh, I lived in LA and Chicago for many years now, and LA is more liberal than Chicago.
Not sure what "country" the other poster is referring to LA. Are you talking about the Inland Empire? Maybe. But that's true for Chicago's far out suburbs too.
I do remember visitors coming to visit me in Chicago and thinking the African American population felt way more country or southern compared to the northeast. I didn't hear those comments about LA's African American's population.
