Future to be mapped for Frio Street

Frio Street may not cut through, or even to, the heart of the city.
Yet this inner-city street is buttressed by a significant number of public entities, including the University Health Center Downtown, the downtown campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio and Haven for Hope transitional housing facility.
A few blocks down, on the street's southern end, sits a small residential neighborhood, a funeral home, motels and an abandoned factory.
The West Side Development Corp. is hosting a two-day forum to plan how to improve Frio Street, in conjunction with the city's Planning and Development Services Department and the UTSA School of Architecture.
