Just got back from Johannesburg, South Africa, home to one of the world's newest BRT systems.
They have dedicated lanes and it is still not all that impressive. San Antonio is really going to have to sell me on the traffic sync-ability and future rail-conversion possibilities because from what I've seen in Joburg, this really is just a longer bus.
