It's interesting that you say a bridge going across the floodway to Oakbank as there was nothing even as a conceptual plan in the all the floodway design documents that I have seen on the internet about having another bridge crossing.
All the flow design was based on the bridges that existed or were rebuilt. I guess if they put a suspension bridge it would not impact the 700 year max flow.
