I forgot to mention this, but there had been a 24-story hotel planned for this site in the mid 80s that was likely meant as a companion to the One American Center. It was proposed by Rust Properties, which also developed the One American Center. This FAA permit from 1984 lists as being a 24-story 240 foot building.

So, it's possible we may see something similar to that height here again.
