I understand what you're saying. These are apartments after all. They have today's in-fashion look and tie into the feel of Sunset Station and the Vidorra townhomes.

I would also have to agree with what others are saying about the ground level retail. If there is an area that has potential to develop into an urban neighborhood that could extend downtown activity east past the IH37 wall it's these blocks past the tracks to Cherry St., especially those close to the Convention Center.

It's certainly true that it hasn't ever really happened with the space that is available, but this is definitely a long term proposition. The city should require that developments of this type in this type of neighborhood have space for retail if smart growth is really their goal.
