They've shown surprisingly strong local, homegrown support for the NHL, so I don't see why they couldn't support a sport that's growing as popular globally as basketball is. The star-driven nature of the NBA obviously suits Vegas well.

It was a perfect storm for the Golden Knights though given the opening night of the city's first professional franchise coinciding with the mass shooting only weeks before. Add in a historic finals run in their inaugural season and they seem to be pretty well ingrained into the city's culture already.
