There's certainly a ton of land to absorb new density in the core of Phoenix, and I know there are height restrictions imposed by the proximity to Sky Harbor, but I have always imagined that continued ridership growth on the Valley Metro Rail could bring increased significance to the Central Avenue trunk and spur some taller buildings (500'+) in midtown Phoenix in the future. There's also a ton of potential for increased height in central Tempe, IMO, due to the coming streetcar line and the presence of ASU.
