General info:
yeah well this is something most of you guys do not know, this is not the iraq as you know it, Kurdistan "autonomous" region gained self-rule from iraq in 1991 by the NATO no fly zone so when you guys came in 2003 not a single soldier entered into our region and not a single one ever was shot, we are kurds not arabs and we have been enjoying a safe security and economic boom since 1991.
the region is almost independent from iraq the only thing holding it together is a budget of 17% the region gets from iraq, otherwise everything is run by the region not iraq.
The region was attached to iraq by the french and britis in 1923 without the consent of the Kurdish people.
iraq is a chaotic country and will stay that way. but Kurdistan region has been safe and away from violence since 1991, the daily bombings and etc never has happened there as it is totally a different state almost run by different people and institutions.
the region has: its own President, PM, Parliament, Army, flag, international borders, TV, languages, schools, even border with iraq. iraqis must pay a fee to enter the region and they must have someone from Kurdistan region vouch for them and they are only allowed to stay for a period of time and must notify the security forces of their where abouts, we are taking no chances
.
total population of this semi-state is 5 million and in 2005 they voted for "independence" from iraq by a majority of 98.8%, but USA was not with the ides thus we are stuck with iraq for now.
