So they've lost their defensive leader, and they never managed to sign the potential offensive leader they were looking for. The situation is getting pretty dire for the Bombers.
The Bombers are showing frightening signs of heading down the same road that the Ottawa Rough Riders did in the 80s and 90s... a series of brutal management blunders that go beyond the average ups and downs of a sports team, and start to actually erode the public's goodwill towards the franchise and put its continued existence in jeopardy. Now, it's obviously premature to say that the Bombers are under some kind of threat right now, but another two or three years of this and it might well be.
