Although San Antonio already has a lot of downtown hotels, there aren't very many "BIG" ones. And lately there has been a push to build more convention size/type hotels in cities. Granted San Antonio already effectively has two of them, but I wouldn't be surprised if this one gets built as a third one. Austin is in the running for a third one, and Houston has 2 major hotels downtown that cater to conventions with at least 4 or 5 more. It's not unreasonable to think San Antonio will get this.
