its true the West Loop is getting a lot of these, but i mean think about how many of Chicago's classic building styles were copied endlessly. Workers cottages, bungalows, Italiantes, courtyards, 2 flats...hardly unique or exclusive. yet now theyre cherished and the areas they are clustered in now represent unique cohesive districts, to the extent of landmarking.

i think if we are going to get something that does medium density mixed use well, its not a bad template. and it wont last forever, there will be some new trend in 10 years. im still not a huge fan of using mixed facades tho. pick one, and be honest about it.
