The foundation would only need to be ~125' deep since that's where the bedrock here starts. I believe the bedrock is dolomite or something like that. The rock beneath Chicago can supposedly bear ridiculous loads that we haven't even come close to approaching yet. Wright theorized that this building could have been built when he designed it and I believe he took bedrock into account as well.
