With the recent news of Delta offering LAX non-stop flights, there is more good news.
American Airlines to offer new non-stop flights to Miami

The San Antonio International Airport announced Thursday that American Airlines is expanding its flight service from San Antonio to Miami International Airport.
The expanded service is set to begin March 5, 2015, and will operate daily.
“This new nonstop service to Miami gives San Antonio residents more opportunities to connect to American’s vast network in Latin America,” said San Antonio Mayor Ivy R. Taylor, in a statement. “Moreover, the new flight confirms the airline’s confidence in the San Antonio market and solidifies our long partnership with American Airlines.”
The airline is planning for early morning departure times from San Antonio for the new expanded service.
Return trips to San Antonio from Miami are slotted for the late evenings in order to maximize connecting options for passengers.
