The Roseland Ballroom has been mid-demolition for a whopping eight months now. Why the beloved Midtown music venue's death has been so drawn-out is unclear, but its extended demolition has afforded plenty of looks into its demise; the most recent of which captures the building's historical uses, "The interior is really beautiful," John Zee, who illicitly snuck into the joint, tells Gothamist, "especially the vintage signage exposed from the ice rink days." Prior to its life as a music venue, the 1920s building housed a skating rink. The site will soon give rise to expensive condos.
