Johnson Development begins building new Jubilee master-planned community in Hockley

Houston-based Johnson Development Corp. has begun construction of another local master-planned community.

Jubilee is being built on 1,622 acres in Hockley just south of Highway 290 and a few miles from the Grand Parkway. When complete, the community is slated to have approximately 4,900 homes, nearly 30 acres of parks and amenity space and more than 270 acres of greenspace and waterways.

“Every facet of Jubilee is being developed with purpose,” June Tang, vice president and general manager of Jubilee, said in a statement. “From the street layout and amenities to the home offerings and lifestyle programming — every aspect will be dedicated to nurturing our residents’ overall well-being. Our mission is to profoundly enhance the lives of individuals who live there.”

The first phase of Jubilee will have 491 homesites in multiple sizes: 40-foot, 45-foot, 50-foot and 60-foot lots. The model home park for this phase will have eight models, and Johnson Development plans to announce builders and pricing in the near future. Home sales are expected to begin next year.

Also in 2024, Johnson Development expects to begin construction on an amenity center, the plans for which are still being developed.
