Interesting thoight, (I just discovered your thread). I think that it might be different politically, but I think architecturally and culturally, it would have been similar to what it is.
I can't stop thinking that it's the greatest city in Canada. All that "pizazz" is true, not a fabrication. The one thing I find difficult is the long, cold snowy winer, but hey I'm from Vancouver.
