I believe that is Burlington you are referring to. It has a larger and noticeably more functional downtown that oakville. Oakville's downtown is beautiful and historic, but often feels little more than a boutique shopping/dining area for the rich. The building posted above is in bronte, which is Oakville's secondary historic area. It's much smaller and dominated by a half vacant mall and plenty of 1960s/70s apartment towers.

Brantford is the city (in)famous for demolishing a block of historic buildings and having a half vacant downtown. Things have improved or so I hear. The downtown is very large for a city of it's size however.
