An unusual view of Downtown. It's clearly Hill Street looking north (note the two tunnels in the far distance), and counting streets down from 7th, this appears to have been taken from a vantage point at the NE corner of Hill and 10th. But what height-limit building used to stand there? There's nothing but a tacky strip mall on that site today.
And the year? The cars (what few can be seen) look like mid-1920s. One clue to a more specific date: it looks like the Warner Bros. Theatre is in the last stages of construction here. Or maybe this shows it in the process of losing its two top floors. The building doesn't have that profile today.
I must say, this isn't exactly a flattering image of Downtown. The city here looks downright dreary to me.
