Elevated is easier to build, cheaper, and more suitable to the environment. Elevated stations provide a visible and generally attractive element to transit in the area.

It also highlights the speed at which rail can move.

Furthermore, I think an elevated line on 281 would be the more immediately successful and accepted alignment to the airport that hits more population than San Pedro. A San Pedro line could certainly meet at the Airport however
