In all fairness, this was to be expected. Adding fire stations to match density is standard operating procedure, and is akin to adding infrastructure. Those Tempe fire guys downtown are busy and are only going to get busier with this increased density.
ASU can't afford to start up its own fire dept, of course, so Tempe will have to continue to cover the campus.
