Is this really an improvement for the neighbourhood though?

Blank walls along the whole street? Yes nice new buildings, residents, "progress". But it's really stale and boring. At least the section across the tracks near whitter park with the houses has people on the streets and such.
It's going to end up a big neighbourhood of seniors living in condos with no street presence.
