I understand how they work but think it would be neat if the government could fund cooler projects, even if profits are lower overall. Same reason all the other cool stuff around the world gets built (not just skyscrapers but really anything).
OKC is not really the place though, ideally a better established skyscraper city.
Did the Apollo program make any money? I guess going to space is more important than building a skyscraper but both are feats of human ingenuity.
