SHANGHAI | Lujiazui Development Tower (plot B3-5) | 869 FT / 265 M | 55 FLOORS
The Development Tower is under construction in between the Merry Land Building and the Jasper Tower.
265 m hight (no spire) 55 floors. That's higher than the Shimao International Plaza (250m) so this building should be quite spectacular. http://www.worldisround.com/hosted/7/340/468.jpg |
October 19th 2004, from the Oriental Pearl. Not a direct view on the plot but see the newly appeared yard houses with blue roofs.

nice...nice....

November 11th 2004. Construction fever on this plot, definitively the most active yard I saw during my stay !

This beautiful building is somewhat reminiscent of 2IFC or the Goldman Sachs building in Jersey City.
Who designed it ? |
i like this building too
|
Damn!! Thats another Super TALL!!
|
It looks like one because it enhances its verticality. But it does not really belong in the category.
|
I cant decide if I like it or not. At first I liked it, but upon closer inspection I dont really like it.
|
i would say it looks like a building in Tokyo that is designed by Cesar pelli.
|
I like the asymmetry of the design. I wonder what it looks like from other angles.
|
I was hoping to find the architect and developer names on the plot so I could search for better renderings but nothing was mentionned. Does somebody know ?
|
Is there a mention of a completion date ?
|
No, no completion date, no final height, no number of floors details : nothing was mentionned at all. This building came as a surprise and it is still quite mysterious.
|
Maybe someone could send an email to one of those architectural firms to find out who's responsible for the project.
Pelli would be a good bet. |

It looks like a Pelli's tower but there is no confirmation of it on his site. I can't find anything about this building. May be in China ? I had liked to see others angles and better renderings. It is quite strange that on this quite small plot a 265 meters high tower can be erected when you compare it to the SHKP project sparse ground occupancy. Old ratio VS new ratio ? |

So, I'm not surprised. |
Shanghai building get better and better. Now the problem is, the 1st generation skyscraper built in the 90's has become the eyesore of the skyline.
